Publishers Description: At dawn on 28 April 1789, William Bligh and eighteen men from the 'Bounty' were herded onto a twenty-three foot open boat and abandoned in the middle of the Pacific. It was the beginning of an epic six-week voyage of 6,705 kilometres to Timor, which involved attacks by Islanders, continuous storms, crippling illnesses and near starvation. After the boat reached the Australian coast there was almost another mutiny.
