Publishers Description: The book follows the life of Evans from his birth in London in 1863 until his death in Toowoomba in 1909. Evans arrived in Brisbane Queensland in April 1881 and later that month went to Allora on the Darling Downs where he and his brother were farmers. Evans was also a poet, writer, columnist, land agent, crown lands ranger, publisher, district registrar of births, deaths and marriages, founder of the Austral Association in Toowoomba and an editor of his own newspaper 'The Rag'. Some of this story has never been told or published before!
