The author is a freelance photographer who received the Higashigawa-cho 1993 International Photographer of the Year Award. His books include 'Sydney Diary 1974-1984', 'Starting Again' and 'Bodywork'. He was introduced to Patrick White in 1977 and was a friend for the 13 years until his death.
